Brian Alexander, President

Brian was elected President of the Kansas AFL-CIO in November 2025, bringing more than 30 years of experience as a union member and advocate at Cessna/Textron. A member of IAM Local 774 since 1995, Brian has served on the local's Executive Board for over 20 years, rising from Trustee to Vice President before being elected President—a position he continues to hold. He also serves as President of the Kansas State Council and President of the Labor Caucus.

Throughout his career, Brian has remained deeply connected to shop-floor representation, serving as a union steward and safety advocate for his worksite. His commitment to member welfare extends beyond the workplace through more than two decades of service on the CUFF/UPLIFT board, a United Way program providing emergency assistance to union members in need, where he also served as a Loaned Executive.

Brian has invested extensively in leadership development through the IAM's William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center (W3) in Hollywood, Maryland, completing Leadership Classes I and II, Advanced Leadership Training, Train-the-Trainer certification, Negotiation Preparation, and numerous additional courses. A committed advocate for working families, Brian has lobbied on behalf of union members at both the Kansas Statehouse and in Washington, D.C., fighting for policies that strengthen workers and their communities.
